Danica Kampfer
Designer
Visual arts have always been a passion of mine. As a child I was either drawing or looking at a picture book. My life, however, took a detour. After an undergraduate degree in philosophy and a career in real estate, I find myself at the Harper College pursuing a degree in interior design.
A career in interior design allows me to utilize my artistic talents as well as my logical mind. For me a design project is like a puzzle or a riddle that needs to be solved. In other words, FUN! My background in art history lets me appreciate different styles and periods. Rather than being married to a particular style, I prefer designing a space that fits the client’s unique personality and needs. I thrive when being appointed a task or a problem to solve. Whether it is a special inspiration piece, incorporating opposing styles or tastes, or dealing with a small or an unusual space, I love to be challenged.
Originally from a country of Serbia, I moved to Chicago in 2005. I enjoy simple pleasures and peaceful life. Currently, I reside in the North suburbs of Chicago with my husband, two kids, a big fluffy dog, and a tiny bird.
